Are you a candidate for vision correction surgery?

With modern techniques, most patients qualify for some form of vision correction. The following are procedures Dr. Matzkin will consider for you:

[Note: astigmatism can usually be treated with a laser or a lens implant]

LASIK:

-0.50 to -10.00 with normal corneas. Far-sighted patients (greater than +1.00) do better with multifocal implants.

PRK:

-0.50 to -10.00 with normal or think corneas, mild dry eye, mild irregular astigmatism

">ICL (Intra-ocular Lens):

-5.00 to -20.00 with thin corneas or irregular astigmatism or dry eye 

LENS EXCHANGE / PRESBYOPIC LENS EXCHANGE / PRELEX / MULTIFOCAL LENS EXCHANGE / ”LASIK FOR BABY BOOMERS”:

Any refractive error, minus or plus, in patients approaching, or over the “reading glasses” age. A multifocal implant can be inserted that can eliminate distance and reading glasses.

Who is not a candidate? (Contraindications to Vision Correction Surgery)

Patients with keratoconus, corneas scars, advanced glaucoma, macula degeneration may not be suitable candidates.

Patients with cataracts are perfect candidates for vision correction using premium multifocal or astigmatic toric lens implants.
